she knows which piece is for what. rofl. after her 1st dental visit(this week) she is even more involved. she is in heaven. ty for the start. its so funny.
we may expand on the kit as more things happen. i bought this for my 2 yr old god-daughter. we play "sick & dead" 1 falls on the floor & 1 rushes to get the kit. & we explain why.
I would recommend this toy for purchase. The toys are durable and have held up to the playing. The working pager and cell phone are great, although my 12 month old somehow messed up the phone (it kept making a constant, loud noise and we had to remove the batteries). The working stethoscope was a big hit, as well as the thermometer. I bought this for my 3 year old son for Christmas who told me he wants to be a doctor. He has had lots of fun playing with all of the different doctor items. The hard plastic container is great as everything fits right back in it for easy pick up.
I would deffinitley recommend it. My son has fixed everybody's "owies" many times over. It is always hard to tell from a small picture what a toy will be like. This product is very well made. He received it for Christmas and he has used it several times every day since.
The box that contains everything is pretty sturdy and has solid catches to keep it closed. At the current price point of $18+, it is a reasonable buy. There is a syringe whose plunger works but in a safe fashion and then a couple of surgical tools. The stethoscope makes coughing sounds when pressed and the beeper beeps with an emergency light displaying. The quality of the pieces is decent with batteries included (surprisingly) in the beeper and the stethoscope. My daughter really enjoyed this set and set to work on me immediately with the included glasses perched on her nose and brandishing a stethoscope. The blood pressure gauge spins when the bulb is squeezed and the cuff is sized right for a small bicep. This toy is more than adequate for a safe medical make believe between little friends and has enough variety of items to sustain an extended role play.
Didn't see anything else on Amazon for the same price. It takes a bit of strength to get them out the first time, but I'm sure it becomes easier over time.Electronic pieces - the stethoscope makes a heartbeat and coughing noise, and the pager makes some beeping noises when you push its three buttons.Decent quality - I'm sure this won't last for 10 years, but I think it will last until they outgrow playing doctor.CONSToo realistic - the set comes with a scalpel and surgical scissors, and I had to explain what they were when my nephew asked. I got this for my niece (2) and nephew (4) for Christmas and watched them play with it for a while. Some thoughts:PROSCarrying case - All the pieces (20 or so) can be stored in custom-cut plastic cutouts. Kinda gruesome.Overall a decent set though.
